Week 126 Wrap Up

Heya, everypony!   It's time to throw the switch on this week's wrap up, and give it some juice!

Alright, alright, I promise to keep the power-puns to a minimum.  Nor will I talk about the fire in the disco, or the fire in the Taco Bell.  And also, despite assurances about puns, I make absolutely zero promises about making references.

Anyway, power!  I'm actually not sure where to go on this one; a dissertation of interpersonal power dynamics?  An essay on influence?  Discussing politics?  Ruminations on electrodynamic properties of matter?  Talking to you about small living spaces and SUPREME COSMIC POWER?

The problem with that is few of those subjects are particularly electrifying to talk about!  And that's to say nothing of powerlessness!  Yet a see a number of you decided to explore that side of it - that inability to change or do anything, stripped of choice.  Very heavy subject matter, and a difficult one to tackle.  But you did, and did it well, I think!

Not to say I didn't like your ponies wielding power, of the supreme executive type that's derived from a mandate from the masses or otherwise!  It's fun to see all your powerful ponies, showing off what they're made of!

And I should probably stop talking about it and just get on with letting you look at them, huh?  Well, then, let's get this thing powered up!

Week 125 Wrap Up

Evenin', everypony!  Lunar Apologist here tonight, wrapping things up for this week!

I know, I've usually got the duty to take care of things over on deviantArt, but not tonight!  No, see, I have a special soft spot for crossovers, so tonight I wanted to do the wrap up instead.  And here I am!

See, crossovers are just great.  Because when they're good, they're like that mythical accident that combined peanut butter and chocolate, fusing two different things that are good on their own into something that's even better when they're together!  And even when the crossover isn't that great, it's fun to look at to see what the person doing the crossover thought was most important or coolest about the properties that they're blending together.  It's not always the things you might suspect!

And then... sometimes, you get that massive, near-mythical sprawl of multiple crossovers that occurs when someone decides that blending just two universes isn't enough!  They'll bring in elements of three, or four, or maybe even fifteen or twenty.  The great thing about these is that even when they're done poorly, it's like a spectacularly impressive car accident in a movie or something - it's all mayhem, but you can't stop watching.  And when it's done well?  When it's done well, it's like watching Voltron combining with Megazord, only to have both of them combine with the Chouginga Gurren Lagann and start chucking galaxies like shuriken.

Why?  Because AWESOME, that's why.  And that's what some of the best crossovers bring to the table.  All the awesomeness of multiple different universes, combined into one supremely-cool picture or story.

Week 124 Wrap Up

Time's up!  Put your pencils down and pass your papers forward, and we'll see who makes the grade!  Oh, wait, we don't do grades here.  Well, time is up nonetheless, and thus it's time to see what everyone has created.  But we've got to be quick!  We've got so much time and so little to do!

Wait a minute.  Scratch that.  Reverse it.

So what have we got this week?  We've got ponies feeling the pressure of deadlines, ponies who time has come, and a few ponies who need to restock their pantries, along with timed events and some straight up time travel.  It would seem that people found time to do art for this week, despite the potential disruption of Daylight Savings.  So I think it's time for me to end this and let you all view the artwork here, as you're all probably tired of my attempts to use the word 'time' in as many sentences as possible anyways.

Week 123 Wrap Up

So the World Series of bat pony baseball is finally over! Did your team win? Or did they go chasing balls only to stop inexplicably and watch as the ball fell in front of them?
I really should stop betting on these things, they just make me angry...
But art of them I can always appreciate! So many wonderful bat ponies, many playing baseball! Though I still think magic is against the rules, but I also don't know how you throw a ball without it, now I'm going to be wondering about that all night... great... another sleepless night.
Anyway I hope all of you lose less sleep over it than I do...
