Week 209 Wrap Up

<Yawns.> Whew! It's been a really tiring week, what with all these delegates running about. So many cultures to experience, so many new ponies and non-ponies to meet, so many social landmines to step on...

On that note, I'd like to apologize again to the Whinnyapolis delegate for asking her what part of Caneighdia she's from. I never was good at identifying accents.

Now if you'll excuse me, the zebra delegates have brought some of their traditional foods for everyone to sample, and I've heard the kaimati is really good.

<door crashes open> "Hey! This no Yak blog entry. This not perfect entry! YAK SMASH!!"

<Shoves the yaks back out the door.> Hey, you guys aren't scheduled to arrive until next week. Go back home!

Week 208 Wrap Up

"Another day, another dollar", as they say. But who is this 'they', anyways. And why do they say such things? And what exactly is a 'dollar' anyways? Is it something akin to a bit? And for Celestia's sake, why am I asking so many questions!?

Truth be told, I have no idea. But it doesn't really matter anyways, because we're here to celebrate milestones! And neither a day nor a dollar is much of a milestone. No, a milestone is something grander, something that marks a significant turning point in one's life. Something like a wedding, or graduation, or getting one's first job. Or a better job, for that matter.

And milestones aren't limited to one's own life either. Countries can have milestones, such as their formation, significant changes in leadership, and the creation of new alliances. Likewise, a university would celebrate their founding, the opening of a new scholastic building, or a student becoming famous.

And of course, television series can have milestones as well. Such as reaching a full one hundred episodes, as a certain series important to us has done just recently. Which is why we've been celebrating milestones of all sorts this week, including the ones below the break:

Week 207 Wrap Up

Well, it looks like it's time to get back to the daily grind. And I don't mean the MMO variety; that was last week. Nope, I mean the boring kind of daily grind: chores. Everypony's gotta do them. Washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, feeding the llamas, ironing the clothes, taking out the trash, raising the barn, swabbing the deck, repairing damage from monster attacks, mucking the stables...

Actually, do Equestrians even have stables? I know they have saddles, but... well, whether or not they have stables is not really important. What is important is that ponies would need to keep up with their stable chores if stables do indeed exist.

Come to think of it, MMO daily quests would indeed count as day-to-day activities, and can potentially become a chore to grind through. So I guess that concept wouldn't be limited to last week's theme. But whatever your daily chores might be, you're certainly not alone in needing to do them. Here's a bunch of ponies right here that are in the same boat as you are. So get off of your collective flanks, and start swabbing those decks!

Week 206 Wrap Up

It's a dangerous world out there, for a pony. Fire-breathing Dragons lairing in the mountains, multi-headed Hydras burbling in the marshes, colossal Ursas wandering through the forests... and there's not always a super-powerful hero (or a team of six) around to take care of the problem! Sometimes, ponies just needs to take matters into their own hooves! With proper organization, a team of ponies can take down even the deadliest of monsters threatening their domiciles. Those with the greatest combat training, whether with weapons or magic, will bring the hurt to the monster, while the toughest do their best to keep the monster focused on them, and not on those more susceptible to harm. Meanwhile, those ponies with the most medical expertise will tend to the wounded, their advanced healing skills often capable of mending even the worst of injuries. With everything planned and organized, the team heads forth to raid the lair of their target, ready to take down the threat once and for all!

Of course, raiders aren't always on the noble side of things. Indeed, the word 'raider' is typically used to describe those who attack the towns of settled ponies, rather than those who defend them. Post-apocalyptic universes in particular tend to be crawling with these kinds of raiders, and the towns in such settings will frequently have guarded walls surrounding them to keep all but the most determined raiders out.

But no matter what type of raider is involved, violence is sure to follow. They're not exactly the most peaceful of ponies, after all. So make sure that your defense is set, or your offense as the case may be, and prepare to handle the horde of raiders waiting just beyond the break:
