Growing older is a normal part of life, and a mandatory one at that. Well, effectively mandatory. While it is technically true that powerful magic can reverse the aging process, it is rare indeed for a pony to be able to handle such powers. As such, aging remains inevitable for all but a very rare few.

However, though growing old may be mandatory, growing up is optional! But even as many ponies hold on to elements of their foalhood, their ever-growing collection of experiences will add up to a steady growth of wisdom and maturity.
