Week 152 Wrap Up

Alright everypony, it's game time! It's time to draw cards, tap for mana, match suits, generate tokens, calculate points, and do whatever else it is that your card game of choice involves. Spells are waiting to be cast, runs are set to be formed, problems await confrontation, and monsters are preparing to evolve! (Is it even it's final form?)  So get your deck(s) together, and prepare to duel!

Many ponies love to play games, so there's no shortage of potential players to compete against. Indeed, you can find several such opponents right here, just below the break:

Week 151 Wrap Up

There comes a time in every pony's life when they must answer the call of duty!  (*Hehe, he said d-* *Oh shut it, that joke's been done already!*)

Ahem.  At any rate, many ponies have done their duty in service to their hometown, to their country, to the princesses, and so on.  And they shall continue to do so for as long as Equestria stands, proudly doing whatever exactly it is that their duty entails!

But enough with the pseudo-melodramatic speech making.  Time to take a look at this week's creations!

Week 150 Wrap Up

Burninating the countryside
Burninating the peasants
Burninating all the ponies
And their thatch-roofed cottages!

...
Wait, that's not really a nice thing to do, is it?

Ahem... at any rate, it's time to fire up this blog again.  This theme has smoldered within the imaginations of the group members, and it's time to show the resulting successes.  Whether figuratively or literally, here's several ponies who are truly on fire!

...

Does anyone else smell something burning?

Week 149 Wrap Up

Throughout Equestria, one can find a great variety of creatures. Cattle, mules, and pigs can be found in many areas, making their homes alongside ponies. Zebras and minotaurs travel from faraway places to interact with the locals. Noble gryphons soar through the clouds while immense dragons sleep away the ages in dark caverns. Colorful butterflies fly through the skies, along with the rarely seen breezies.

(breaks into song)
The squirrels in the trees and the cute little bunnies.
Birds flying free and bees with their honeeeeey!

Okay, that's enough singing.  It's time to head on down past the break and see what sorts of creatures have appeared in this week's artwork. Last one there is a mule! No offense...

Week 148 Wrap Up

There are many great quotes about helping others.  Charles Dickens once said "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another."  And to that, I wish to thank each and everyone of you who submitted, who commented, or who offered a word of encouragement to anyone here.  You do more than you know to bring a smile on people's faces.  And I believe that when everyone takes an extra moment to consider another, it makes the world a better place.

Helping.  It can come in many forms, many ways. Help being willingly offered, and gratefully accepted.  Or Help coming from unexpected sources. Ponies can help other ponies, obviously, as well as ponies helping animals, and others helping ponies too.  But we have a few shining examples of artists helping other artists as well.  It's quite wonderful to see.

And while the theme may be over, I hope it gives everypony pause.  Take that extra moment to help someone else in need.  It may only cost you time, and for them, it may be worth so very, very much.

With that, let's take a look at everypony lending a helping hoof in this week's entries.  ...I'm Helping!

Week 147 Wrap Up

Culture is a truly rich and diverse thing.  Throughout the ages, many nations have left their cultural mark upon the world, and many continue to have a cultural impact now.

Of course, Equestria is no different.  From the Bridleway musicals of Manehattan, and the aerial performances of Cloudsdale's Wonderbolts, to the fashionable elite of Canterlot itself, ponykind has quite rich cultural traditions all its own.  And here's a selection of cultural examples for your perusal:

Week 146 Wrap Up

The generation gap is a prevalent problem in today's society.  Ponies of the first generation are extremely different from those in the third and fourth.  And many refuse to even acknowledge the second.  The rapid cultural changes over the years have surely contributed to some of these generational differences as well.  Researchers have tried to find ways to bridge the so called gap so that ponies of all generations can work together in... well. 'Harmony.' but some still resist that there's any relation between them.

These ponies today with their high tech animation rigs in flash and their fancy schmancy followings.  They don't know for difficult.  Back in my day, ponies had to walk up hill both ways to get to Midnight Castle.  Nightmare Moon?  Bah, Tirek was thrice the villain she was.  Non-redeemable and filled with darkness, he'd turn a pony into a shadow creature just for looking at him funny.

Of course these G4 kids, eh, they have good heads on their shoulders.  They just need to remember their elders sometimes.  I bet Firefly could teach Rainbow Dash a trick or two.  Of course, our Twilight and Spike were quite a bit different back then.  None of this Sparkle stuff.  Applejack... well she didn't have her hat, I guess.

But oh look at the time!  It's a bit late for me, and you're probably wondering what all this old-timey talk is about.  Well, maybe not.  You've been looking back and taking a lesson from the past this week, and hopefully learned a thing or two from your elders.  Let's take a look at what the bounty of age and experience have granted:

To some it would com as a surprise, to know these two were once the same size. - fetchbeef
