Week 163 Wrap Up

Ah, the wonders of fan conventions!  So many events and panels to attend.  So many guest speakers to get autographs from.  So many costumed visitors to see, and perhaps photograph.  So many vendor stalls to browse through, and merchandise to purchase.  So much overpriced con food to consume.  So many lines to stand in.  So many ball pits to spend an extra hour in...

I think I'm getting off-track here.

Nonetheless, conventions are a great social gathering, allowing people to meet online friends in person, potentially make new friends, and just spend time in the company of other people who share their interests.  Much like the ponies seen here:

Week 162 Wrap Up

We just got a letter.
We just got a letter.
We just got a letter.
I wonder who it's from?

Yes! Nothing better than getting some mail from a friend. A letter, a package, an organ of unspecified origin shipped in ice from a country you've never heard of. Getting mail can be a chore, junk mail abounds, and sometimes those letters are just ponies who say you owe them bits, so you have to send them a delivery of said bits. It'd be pretty nice if you could get a package with bits in it every month.  That'd be pretty great. Sadly, this is not yet the case.

Of course, the opposite is true too. Sometimes packages can be wonderful. Some special item flown from the Amarezon Rainforest by special order, flown in by Pegasus carriers. Or, perhaps it's a gift from a friend... someone who just wants to tell you that they were thinking of you.  That you matter.  Special deliveries indeed.

Sometimes, deliveries can cause fire hazards in the main vendor hall! Or... well, that's another story entirely. But let's just say that sometimes the letters... well... they'll get to their destination alright. Maybe just not in the condition in which they were set.  My bad.  I just don't know what went wrong!

Week 161 Wrap Up

They tell me that silence is golden, and honestly, I can see the value in that. I rather enjoy a quiet day, either all by myself with a nice cup of tea, or curled up with a love one... and... probably a nice cup of tea as well. I've never been one to seek out crowds and overly loud places. But the peace of the quiet night, that has always been my peaceful center.

And oh for those quiet moments where ponies can express themselves without speech. The expressions and movements made without speech can be all the more powerful. Words can lie, but it is far more difficult to make the body do so.

Of course, the silence doesn't hold peace alone... sometimes, there can be terror in the quiet darkness and the still of night... creatures out there... w-waiting... still... um... s-silent.

Y-you know what, nevermind... l-let's just um... look at the nice peaceful quiet art that was submitted this week... s-surely there's nothing out there... a-and to prove it... m-maybe I'll just go and um... hide under the covers... quietly... until whatever's not there goes away.  R-right...

Week 160 Wrap Up

Oh, hello there, and welcome to the Ponyville Hospital.  We're ready to assist you no matter the problem.  So, what is troubling you?  Are you feeling ill?  Running a temperature?  Vomiting?  Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea?  No?  Then are you hurt, perhaps?  Did you twist your ankle, maybe?  Fall down the stairs?  Get launched off a seesaw?  Stub your hoof?  Cracked rib, bloody nose, knotted tail, bruised ego, reticulated spline... wait, you have a migraine?  And what do you mean, it just now started?  Well, I can certainly get some aspirin for you, but I don't think you needed to come to the hospital for that.

Oh, you came to visit somepony here?  Well, why didn't you just say so in the first place!  By all means, just let me know who you wish to visit and I'll escort...

Week 159 Wrap Up

All aboard! You know, I have a history with trains. It's not exactly... the best history. Of course, anytime a Pegasus is on a train it's a bad time. It'd be much better to fly there, after all. So once you get a pegasus on a train... there's already been some problem. Of course, not all train trips are the result of such issues, and many ponies commute via train every day. The train from Ponyville to Canterlot isn't that long a trip, after all.

Taking a train for work, or for play, the experience of travel itself is quite extraordinary. Of course, some ponies are less concerned with train tracks and more concerned with pain trains. Err... that is to say, no pain, no gain, that's why you train! Physical endurance, mental agility, or the stamina to push ahead. Ponies find proper training regimes of exercise, study, and more in order to better themselves. Now, this is the type of training I can get behind! Go through a couple years of training and soon enough they'll stop calling you a scrawny colt and start calling you a moderately less scrawny stallion! Err... there's that personal history creeping in again...

But we all know why we're here. A vigorous regime of drawing ponies to best train our creative minds and physical skills. Be that training on a train, or in a plane, or in a box, with a fox, on a bag of rocks, the artists below have stayed on track and come into station (And no, they will not eat your Green Eggs and Ham, regardless of physical locale or environmental factors). So wait for the luggage car to get unpacked, and let's take a look at the new arrivals to roll into the station.

Alright.  My character, Reginald Percival Gideon, will use the underslung grenade launcher on his regulation pulse gun to fire a rocket-powered grenade at the renegade pegasus general and his army of rabid pygmy goats.
