Week 139 Wrap Up

Treasures fill this world, and for those who know where to look, they are theirs for the taking!  Ever is there talk of ancient artifacts of magnificent and deadly power being sold by simple thrift store merchants.  Or perhaps some kind of valuable comic book purchased second-hand from somepony who didn't even know it had mystical properties!  You can never know what you'll find with a little bit of hunting, some perseverance, and a lot of luck.

There is a certain joy in finding something wonderful among the discarded.  To find those items which have been cast off by others, broken, useless, unwanted, and then to reshape them.  To give them new purpose, or to give them better purpose!  To remake and reforge the trash of the past into the treasure of the future.  Does it ennoble the object, to give it a grander purpose?  Trash can be made into new treasure with hard work, creating an item which many desire.

And of course, for others, the definition of treasure does not merely rest in items of great worth. A diamond in the rough, some call them.  Those who might appear on the outside to be uninteresting, afraid, dull, or shy. Treasures which lie within the heart of some ponies, and it can take love and caring to nurture it to the surface, to see the gem of their true selves, and realize that deep down, a treasure awaits...

Such it is with the art found within this weeks wrap-up.  Found treasures, made treasures, and treasures from the heart... There is no trash here, only wonders for one and all:

Week 138 Wrap Up

Fortune is a fickle mistress.  She offers with one hoof, and she takes away with the other.  The trade winds guide many along their way, ponies seeking fortunes by wind or by wave.  The world is vast, and filled with many wonderful things, some in plain sight, and some hidden.  It takes dedication, hard work, and a bit of luck... fortunes are out there to be made...

...and fortunes are out there to be lost.  Put your bits down, sidle up to the table, and play for keeps.  Your opponents all have their tells.  A bad bluff may be your key to winning big! But one bad turn of the cards, and everything might be gone.  Fortunes shift and change, as variable as weather, and twice as fierce.

Week 137 Wrap Up

Alright, it's time for everypony to come out from their homes and rejoice! The unending storms have passed, the Queen has returned with full control of her powers, and the country is once again at peace. With the skies once again clear and the temperature returning to summer norms, it is time to celebrate! And what better way to do so than with art. And conveniently, art is something we have. You guys have taken quite a liking to this theme, it seems. We've got pictures of the Queen, of course, along with some airborne ponies, a few stray ice monsters, and Discord... well, being Discord. Week 136 Wrap Up

Ah, a new year from the traditional calendar of our friends from the east; and with it, a new animal - so long, snake!  It's time for the Year of the Pony!

What?  You mean - ?  Huh.


Well, I've just been informed that it is not, in fact, The Year of the Pony.  Technically, it's the Year of the Horse.  To that I say - ponies, horses...  it's close enough!  We're all equines, here, so let's ring in this new year of all things four-legged and hooved!  Let fly the fireworks, and let's have a look at what all you've done for this fine week of Asian Ponies! :D

Week 135 Wrap Up

It was another one of those nights.  You know the kind.  Rainy, with that low hanging fog that seemed to pervade everything.  You didn't much see the moon much on a night like this.  And everypony who was out about town was out looking for trouble.  You could feel it in the way they glanced at you.  It was another Weekly art Wrap-Up night.

I'd hoped I could wait it out.  Hoped that this week, it'd be different.  Of course, things being different doesn't put hay on the table.  Stallion's gotta pay his bills.  And as I tried to flip through one of my open casefiles, wouldn't you know it, but that's when She walked in my office.  She strode in like she owned the place.  And before I could object, the satchel of bits that hit my desk made a noise that told me she probably could own it if she wanted.  A noise like that can sway a stallion's mind, even when his heart tells him that this mare is just after no good.

"They say you're the best.  I need you to find something for me."  Her dark blue mane and black coat shimmered like a gal who never needed to worry about where her next brushie was coming from.

"Lady, if you're throwing that much coin around, I doubt there's anything I can find that you can't get ahoof of yourself."

She smirked, "Not these." She opened up a manilla folder she'd had tucked under her wing.  My eyes were drawn to the images inside.  This mare was definitely trouble.  But I smiled just a bit as I scanned these images, starting to suspect that she was my kind of trouble.

"You've got good taste, it seems.  Alright Mrs, you've got yourself a deal." And with that, I'd cast my fate.  I was in for one hell of a night.  And for one hell of a Wrap up.

Week 134 Wrap Up

Change can be a good thing. It can bring about new opportunities to grow and transform ourselves, and to become better than what we are now. But it can also bring further hardships upon those who experience it, especially when the change is a physical one. But one things that hasn't changed is the continued presence of artwork within this blog. People continue to send in their creations to be shown here, as they have done since the beginning, even as the themes themselves change with every week. So, it's time to bring this conversation to a close and check out what's been created. Everypony, transform and roll out!
